How to grow tissue cultured plants

Whether called "tissue cultured" or "micro-propagated" a clone is a clone: these are plants cultured in a lab and are to subject to any genetic variance - they are identical clones of their parent.

"Tissue cultured plants come in a gel which holds both nutrients, a source of essential carbon and some extremely expensive hormones, so don't open it before it is all used up because the Gel is as a magnet for mold which will often destroy the plants, so keep the lid on and place them under a good light. The nutrient gel is is good for up to 2 months.

When I worked in the aquatic-nursery business in Denmark and we used to grow-out these cultures, they were placed in a light cabinet to further growth for 14 days and become much more robust. But, if they become infected with mold the plants may melt down because mold will use the same nutrients and it will be possible that the tissue culture can experience deficiencies and the melting could be a cause of this. for further complicate matters.

Give them some air when planting and a good light source - Jorn Ullits
