Many subspecies

Nearly every Anubias in the aquarium trade is A. barteri - and why not, it's the smallest, the rest tend to be giants that will grow several feet, and of all the species barteri does the best when grown in water in the long term. The other forms are around, kept by Aroid fanciers grown emersed.

Anubias in the wild

One of the few goldfish-proof plants

Crusio, W. (1979). "A revision of Anubias Schott (Araceae)". Mededelingen Landbouwhogeschool Wageningen. Primitiae Africanae XII 79 (14): 1–48.

Most of the photos here are nearly all from one man in Russia where they are very popular grown as specimen plants and not just in aquariums. All species are from West Africa exclusively.
