As I get up this morning, really late for the first time since leaving CA, I am questioning my decision to come to the convention. Not attending, but by driving myself, had a really bad Sunday, in fact it was so bad it has taken me two days to decide if I was going to post about it!

First, as I was getting some things at a Walmart in west TX, a guy asks me for a light for his cigarette. I politely tell him I don't smoke, his response..."that's OK, I really want your wallet, don't turn around my buddy has a gun!" I then feel someone grab my wallet out of my pocket and it was over!

They got away with all of my cash for the trip, about $500, but dumped the wallet against the store wall 20-30 feet away! So, luckily I still have my wallet, ID and debit/credit cards!

Ok, I survived my first armed robbery, waited for the police, it was all caught on video, filed the report, not much they could do, it wasn't enough money, but I'm back on the road!

Two hours later, I'm out in the middle of nowhere and a semi changes lanes right into me! I see him coming so I try to avoid him, which I do but I hit the center divide, bounce across two lanes of freeway luckily no one else around, and into the shoulder (which is just brush and rocks, but I'm bouncing around and have a death grip on the steering wheel! I know better then to slam on then breaks so I'm slowing down at a reasonable pace and moving back to my eastern lanes when I hit a bump and I swear all four tires were off the ground! When I finally come to a stop I can barely see the truck, have no phone service to call anyone, but other then a busted fog light and some scraped and dents, plus a lot of weeds in the grill the main damage seems to be the trucks total desire to make a hard right when I hit the breaks! Front suspension is going to need to be looked at!

So today, two days later, I can't move because I'm so sore and really wonder why I didn't just fly!

On the bright side, Jamie Gallier from the Greater Houston Aquarium Club went collecting yesterday (which I'm sure contributed to my soreness) and hasd a fantastic time, more on that later as I've got to try to get going!
