Cape Fear Spatterdock (Nuphar japonica) is a seasonal native in the southeastern US. A fast feeding lily it is demanding as it is utterly spectacular. Find them in the spring in better pet stores.

These are the good ones. Rare, not the easier to grow but when they're happy they're one of the most magnificent plants around. They like coolers not warmer water so no discus but killies and barbs and any cool tolerant fish are ideal. The tubers are prone to rot where they're cut but as long as these heal properly - and good vigor growth in clean aerobic substrate and good water column fertilization should produce food results.

There's less photos of this plant than I'd expect there to be so I think its pretty rare in the hobby and probably seasonal.

Get'em while you can. They're not around often and even then not for long. Very seasonal they show up in spring
