Ramshorn snails, found all over the world, come in brown, red and sort of clear that looks blue. Ones found locally appear to be just fine in home aquaria and can be found in all colors.
Native to the South East region of the United states this is now found all over the great lakes and even quite far north of there; I found one in Steenberg Lake, just south of Algonquin park.
It is considered invasive but unfortunately does not do well at tropical aquarium temperatures but might be ok in outdoor ponds thaty dop not get too hot imn summmer. This is a bit of a shame as it's one of the most brightly colored of all aquatic snails.
