About 12 years ago I applied to have Leggetts Rainbowfish added to the allowable list under the provisions of the EPBC Act so we could have them here in the NT. I also did it so Ray Leggett could see the fish that was named for him by Dr Gerald Allen. Josh Frydenberg was Minister for DoE at the time and refused the application. It was challenged by Ray Leggett about 2 years ago. Today we received a letter to inform us the appeal was successful and Leggetts Rainbowfish Glossolepis leggetti will be added to the allowable fish list. Current Minister Sussan Ley has accepted submission and decided to allow the species on the list.
